How do I get rid of the old dusty leather/suede smell from the inside of a vintage leather purse?
I bought a vintage leather bag that’s not lined on the inside, and the inside suede has a old, musty smell to it. I would like to know if there are any ways to get rid of that smell, or make it less noticable. I’d appreciate your suggestions!
Place a dryer sheet in it and close it up for a couple of days. Also takes out cigarrette smoke.
I purchased a used book that smelled like cigarrette smoke. Dryer sheets did the trick.
There is no oil in the dryer sheets. There was nothing left behind on the pages of the book when I took the dryer sheets out. The pages were clean and stain free.
I notice some people telling you to wash it. That would water stain the leather and ruin the value, if it is truly a vintage purse.
