Do hot flashes go away by themselves, without the use of hormone therapy?
I no longer have overies and am experiencing flashes, and do not want to take hormone therapy. can I wait it out or do I have no choice in the matter?
When ovaries are surgically removed hot flashes are strong and probably never go away. There are all kinds of remedies that work partially like Yoga, or venlafaxine, which is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor antidepressant. I am not sure if your doctor knows this pill, its definitely not HRT and works ok. Of course HRT is the only total solution (I use it myself) for hot flashes.
